Bridgeport, OK is a ghost town. Once a promising location for trade and shipping from this rich agricultural area, the town was negatively affected by flooding from the nearby Canadian River, and in-fighting among its citizens. Today the town has only about 30 households in residence.

This water tank is located on State Avenue, in the northeast part of town, just east of Main Street. The cylindrical tank has a domed top and is supported by four steel legs. The town's outdoor warning device is mounted to one of the upper cross beams.
