A Victorian wall post box in Great Gaddesden near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, UK. It's a nice example of a Smiths & Hawkes box and still in daily use
Tell us about the area the post box is situated.:
A drawn out hamlet along a road called Piper's Hill. The box is on the boundary wall of a house and would nowadays be considered a dangerous position as the road is so narrow


Condition of the box: Good/Average/Poor: Good

Is this post box still in use?: Yes: Mon-Fri 4.15pm Sat 8.45am

Is VR embossed on the post box or is it an "anonymous" box?: Yes

Any other embossed lettering, such as manufacturer?: Yes

Manufacturer Inscription: Smith & Hawkes, Eagle Foundry Broad St Birmingham (1856-71)
