The Presa de Tirajana reservoir, also known as Presa de la Sorrueda, was completed in 1974 and is one of the few reservoirs of Gran Canaria built with loose building materials. The dam foundations are made of clay, the dam wall is 74 meters high and has a capacity of 380,000m³.
