« Lorsque le gouverneur Gosford lance les mandats d`arrestation contre Duvernay et vingt-cinq autres membres du Parti patriote, il s`exile aux États-Unis. Il tente une incursion à Moore`s Corner avec quatre-vingt rebelles afin d`amener des armes des États-Unis. Toutefois, le bataillon est rapidement intercepté par des Loyaux et, après quelques coups de feu, Duvernay et les rebelles, nettement inférieurs à l`ennemi, doivent s`enfuir à nouveau de l`autre côté de la frontière, laissant derrière eux les armes aux Loyaux. Duvernay passe cinq années en exil aux États-Unis. »

When Governor Gosford (Governor-General of British North-America) launched the arrest warrants against Duvernay and twenty-five other members of the Patriot Party, he (Duvernay) chose to leave for the United States. He tried to break into Moore`s Corner with eighty rebels to bring in US weapons. However, the battalion was quickly intercepted by Loyals and, after a few shots, Duvernay and the rebels, much lower in numbers than the enemy, had to flee again on the other side of the border, leaving behind the weapons to the Loyals. Duvernay spent five years in exile in the United States.
