SULTE, BENJAMIN (baptisé Olivier-Benjamin Vadeboncœur), journaliste, écrivain, fonctionnaire et historien, né le 17 septembre 1841 à Trois-Rivières, Bas-Canada, fils de Benjamin Sulte, dit Vadeboncœur, et de Marie-Antoinette Lefebvre ; le 3 mai 1871, il épousa à Ottawa Augustine Parent, fille d’Étienne Parent, et ils eurent deux enfants mais aucun ne survécut ; décédé le 6 août 1923 à Ottawa et inhumé le 10 dans sa ville natale.

Le buste de Benjamin Sulte repose sur un socle en granit gris. Il a les cheveux courts et porte un moustache de style Van-Dyke. Il est vêtu d’une chemise et d’un manteau. Son visage rayonne de fierté au souvenir de l’histoire des canadiens-français qu’il a su si bien raconter dans le livre qu’il a écrit.
SULTE, BENJAMIN (baptized Olivier-Benjamin Vadeboncœur), journalist, writer, office holder, and historian; b. 17 Sept. 1841 in Trois-Rivières, Lower Canada, son of Benjamin Sulte, dit Vadeboncœur, and Marie-Antoinette Lefebvre; m. 3 May 1871 Augustine Parent, daughter of Étienne Parent*, in Ottawa, and they had two children, neither of whom survived; d. 6 Aug. 1923 in Ottawa and was buried on 10 August in Trois-Rivières.

The bust of Benjamin Sulte rests on a gray granite base. He has short hair and a Van-Dyke style mustache. He is wearing a shirt and coat. His face radiates with pride when remembering the story of the French-Canadians he has so well told in the book he wrote.
