The port district of Niort had no church since the Revolution. The neo-Gothic church was built by architect Alcide Boutaud between 1883 and 1900. The entrance is to the west by a porch bell tower, flanked by a turret staircase. A stone arrow was planned. Inside, the porch bell tower receives an organ gallery whose model is identical to all the churches of Boutaud. The decor of the church is related to its organization and structure. The vaults are Plantagenet style. The bedside has shallow and three-sided radiant chapels. The axial chapel opens on two sacristies. At the center of the choir is a ciborium supported by four granite columns. Under the choir is a crypt at the bottom of which is the tomb of the instigator of the construction and priest of the church, Canon Riquet. The windows are the work of Mr. Dagrant, and date from the late 19th century.
