The 'Ham Common Bicentenary Park' Playground is enclosed, with a 'pool-gate' entrance near the Information Centre, and has 'Fat Albert' as a drawcard for children and adults alike.

I had fun on 'Fat Albert', checking it out, on top, and inside. A plaque on it saying that is a Community Project, even including a couple of the local schools. It is formed concrete, in the shape of a Hercules plane, which you may even see one taking off or landing over the road, if you are lucky.

Apart from a double Swing set - with solid rubber seats - for a change, there is a wooden pole, modular set, with a raised platform covered with semi-circular wooden cut-outs. A rope Cargo Net is the way to get up to the higher, or mid-height platforms. The higher platform has laterally curving plastic Slippery Slide, with the slightly lower platform has a wood-sided metal Slippery Slide.

There is also a replica wooden Train Engine for juniors to enjoy being the driver of. Extra photos of the Playground, and in use, are in the below link. The children like to watch out for the planes, but there is also the train line behind, for mini-train-watchers.
