The Victorian Academic Gothic style St Michael's Cathedral was constructed from sandstone blocks in 1885-1887 as the Parish Church and became a cathedral in 1917 when the Diocese of Wagga was formed. The Cathedral has a steeply sloping slate roof, buttressed walls and a bell tower which has spires on each corner
