What do two Pennsylvania snowbirds do when they are in Florida? Why, they go to a Pennsylvania based restaurant for Philly cheesesteaks!

Our number one home is near Philadelphia, PA, and we love the city and all of its attractions. One of the things that we love the most is the food, and, of course, everyone knows that the most famous food in Philadelphia is the cheesesteak. So, when we snowbird in Florida, is it really strange that we would often visit the sandwich shop which provides us with that particular comfort food?
Laspada's is a family owned business, the founder had immigrated from Italy in 1908 and opened their first restaurant in Atlantic City, NJ. His son, John, opened his own restaurant in Delaware County which borders the city of Philadelphia in 1958. Then in the 1970's John decided to move to Florida where he opened several of his sandwich shops, including this shop in Sanford.
I admit to having a tough time choosing between a cheesesteak or one of the best Italian sandwiches I have ever had when we visit Laspadas but I am usually influenced by my thoughts of home as I view all of the Philadelphia reminders which decorate the restaurant.
Laspadas hours are 10-8 Monday thru Friday and 11-6 on the weekends.
