Plaza Daniel Leo, named after politician Daniel Ignacio Leo, is located in front of Renaissance Mall, and features some of the most picturesque Dutch multicolored colonial buildings, which are housing all kind of shopping stores.
The life-size bust of Daniel Ignacio Leo stands on a marble base. The inscription on the base reads:
"DANIEL IGNACIO LEO
11 Juli 1938 - 18 Juli 1989
PROTECTOR DI
AGRICULTURA Y
ECONOMIA ARUBANO"

Daniel Ignacio Leo was born on July 11, 1938. He was governor of Aruba, a member of the Aruba Island Council and Minister of Economy and Tourism. He has worked tirelessly in the fields of tourism, agriculture, livestock and fishing. He died on July 18, 1989, a week after suffering a stroke.
