This is a simple wooden slat bench, set up, and back from the asphalt walkway from Manly to Shelly Beach, on Sydney's northern beaches. The three backrest slats are painted an 'Australian sky blue', while the four wooden slats of the seat are not so freshly painted, and more a turquoise blue/green. They are fixed from behind to two bent, galvinised water pipes, that are secured into the concrete.
The brushed stainless steel plaque is inset into the top of the backrest slats (not secured with screws), and it reads:
Byron Clayton 6.6.66 to 20.4.92
Always Loved and Remembered
by his Mother Margaret Atkinson,
Family and Friends. 6.6.92
