The lacquered wooden slat bench is beside the Marine Parade walk between Manly Beach and Shelly Beach. The bench has five 6 cm wide wooden slats for the backrest, and a further five 6 cm wide wooden slats for the horizontal part of the seat. At the top, and front of the seat is a separate wooden slat, shaped a little less than semi-circular. The ends appear to be cast aluminium, with a curved arm rest and a lengthy 'foot' beneath. There is an articulated cast piece in the middle of the bench for increased rigidity.

The etched, brushed stainless steel plaque is inset into the top horizontal slat, and fixed with two security, stainless steel 'tek' screws. The inscription of the plaque reads:
