Laxey Girl Guides Time Capsule placed to commemmorate the centenary of the Girlguiding.

The Laxey Girl Guides placed this time capsule in the Laxey Glen close to Village's Millennium Stone which was place tp commemmorate the year 2000. (visit link)

The time capsule was placed in July 2014 by the Laxey Girl Guides to commemmorate the centenary of Girlguiding. The spot where the capsule is buried is marked by a black/silver marker mounted on a wooden stack. The Plaque bears the badge of the Guirlguiding movement and has the following text:
"TIME CAPSULE
TO CELEBRATE
100 YEARS OF GUIDING
JULY 2010"

The marker does not show a date on which it is to be opened.

The Girl Guides Movement was formerly founded in 1910 by Lord Robert Baden-Poweel and his sister Agnes Baden Powell.
