"This fire station has one Type I engine, one Type III engine and a patrol. Station #8’s response area is the largest in the ACFD, encompassing 280 square miles of open range land and freeways. Responses of 30 minutes or more are not uncommon because of the vast unincorporated area that the station responds to. Station #8 provides Automatic Aid into the City of Livermore. Formerly the Alameda County Fire Patrol, Station #8 is entirely surrounded by the City of Livermore." (
