RECOVERY NOTE BY SOUTH CAROLINA GEODETIC SURVEY 1996 (DDW) STATION IS LOCATED IN LITTLE RIVER, 25.0 MILES (40.2 KM) EAST OF CONWAY. OWNERSHIP--SCDOT, DIRECTOR OF PRECONSTRUCTION, P.O. BOX 191, COLUMBIA, SC 29202, PHONE 803-737-1350. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 17 AND STATE HIGHWAY 90, 1.5 MILES (2.4 KM) WEST SOUTHWEST OF LITTLE RIVER, GO NORTH ON HIGHWAY 17 FOR 2.0 MILES (3.2 KM) TO THE STATION NEAR A POWER POLE AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY IN THE NORTHEAST ANGLE OF THE JUNCTION OF STATE ROAD 50 (MINEOLA AVENUE). STATION IS A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.5 FOOT (15.2 CM) AND 0.5 FOOT (15.2 CM) ABOVE THE HIGHWAY, 46.0 FEET (14.0 M) EAST OF THE CENTER OF THE ROAD, 17.0 FEET (5.2 M) NORTH NORTHWEST OF THE CURB OF THE HIGHWAY, 30.1 FEET (9.2 M) SOUTHEAST OF A FIRE HYDRANT, 11.7 FEET (3.6 M) NORTH NORTHEAST OF A POWER POLE NUMBER 76459 WITH A SECURITY LIGHT AND 4 GUY WIRES, 9.8 FEET (3.0 M) WEST NORTHWEST OF A WITNESS POST.
