JOHN ADAMS
Born in Nashville, July 1, 1825, he served as an officer of the First Dragons following graduation from the Military Academy in 1846. Resigning at Secession, he rose to command a brigade in the Confederate Army of Tennessee. He was killed leading his brigade at Franklin, Nov. 30, 1864. He is buried in the cemetery 300 yards south.
