EN: The Fricktal are the two Aargau districts Laufenburg and Rheinfelden, which are located north of Bözberg. From 1802 to 1803 they formed the canton Fricktal, then they became a part of the Aargau. In its geographical center stands since 1991 a monument with a bronze plaque, which contains, among other information, also the coordinates.

The coordinates are given as CH1903 data, the then official Swiss coordinate system (today LV95 is up-to-date). The coordinates "263-762 / 640 -117" converted into WGS84 are: "N 47° 31.402 E 7° 58.278". The deviation from my GPS measurement is around 150 meters. That was to be expected, since CH1903 is based on a different geoid model than WGS84.

DE: Das Fricktal sind die beiden Aargauer Bezirke Laufenburg und Rheinfelden, die sich nördlich des Bözbergs befinden. Von 1802 bis 1803 bildeten sie den Kanton Fricktal, dann wurden sie ein Teil des Aargaus. In seinem geographischen Mittelpunkt befindet sich seit 1991 ein Denkmal mit einem Bronzeschild, das neben anderen Informationen auch die Koordinaten enthält.
