Aux bâtiments d’origine se sont greffés, au cours des siècles, d’autres bâtiments pour former un ensemble enclavé en pleine ville.
Au début du 20ème siècle, ces bâtiments ont été affectés différemment dont un Service Médecine, un service Maternité et un Hospice accueillant des personnes âgées hommes et femmes mais aussi des jeunes le plus souvent sans famille. "
