In Walpole, at the intersection of School Street and Stone Street, is a cornerstone with the date, 1956.

The building is on the west corner of this intersection and across Stone Street from the Walpole Public Library.

The building is a multi-story brick building. The cornerstone is at the corner nearest the intersection, about a foot off the ground, 5 ft from the actual corner and near the main entrance to the building. The stone is a light sandstone material with the year carved into it.

Verizon is the current name. At the time the building was built, it was likely New England Bell Telephone that served the local community.
Year of construction: 1956
