Oilton is a town of about 1000 residents, situated on Highway 99 in Creek County, approximately 38 miles west of Tulsa. Oilton rose out of the Oklahoma plains in 1915 with the discovery of oil in the nearby Cushing-Drumright Oilfield. The town was incorporated in 1921.

City Hall is located at 101 W. Main. The clock stands in a small raised garden surrounded by a low brick wall. The clock has two faces and Arabic numerals.
