From the church's leaflet:-
"The Churchyard has had between fifteen and twenty thousand burials since it's use began in 1410, after the Black death (which reached Worcester in 1349 and continued in outbreaks for over a century). Most people were buried in shrouds, woolen ones to encourage the wool trade and coffins were only for the rich until recent times."

The churchyard is extensive and split into two by a driveway to a local house.

A gravestone for a Vice Admiral & his wife reads as follows:-
"Vice Admiral Francis decimus hastings
born October 26th 1795 died May 21st 1869 aged 73 years
Mary Wigley his wife daughter of George Perrott of Cracombe House
born October 5th 1793 died July 31st 1846 agedn 53 years"
Name of church or churchyard: St John the Baptist, Claines
