According to their listing on the Find a Grave website brothers G. Frankie and Freddie Stephenson "drowned in Hawk's Pond, Goshen, while bathing". Their father George was drowned in a separate event 31 years later. The obelisk has the family name STEPHENSON at the base and is inscribed on two sides:
