Ruth Trail McClellan, 101, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 1994 in Klamath Falls. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 1994 at Davenport's Chapel of Good Shepherd, Pastor Robert Marsalli, officiating. Family graveside services were held Saturday at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. McClellan was born Dec. 21, 1892 in Poquonock Bridge, Conn. to Marcus Trail and the former Annie Marquardt. She was a graduate of the first class at Connecticut College of New London in 1919 and attended more schooling and taught in West Virginia and Kansas. She later moved to Alaska, where she taught home economics at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks, and met her husband, Clifford McClellan.
The family moved to Klamath Falls in 1927. Mrs. McClellan was active in Home Extension and church work, and she enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Robert Davies, Klamath Falls; son and daughter-in-law, John and Betty McClellan, Central Point, and Mrs. Stanley (Janice) McClellan, Klamath Falls, 14 grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son. Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd is in charge of the arrangements.
