In the N. wall, two niches of differing heights, which present an interesting puzzle for their precise function. It is unclear, and they look very much as if they were once part of a larger, possibly symmetrical, group and only later re-set here.
One would normally expect a triple niche, which would then contain a rood group, a crucifixion in the middle flanked by the Blessed Virgin and St John.
