"La mairie de Palavas-les-Flots a augmenté le prix d’accès à l’ascenseur du restaurant «Le Phare» de 2 à 3€ par personne. Depuis, les gérants dénoncent un «racket organisé» et ont porté plainte auprès de la police judiciaire qui a mené une perquisition jeudi à la mairie.
Ce n’est pas qu’une histoire d’ascenseur. Laurent Lechuga, l’un des exploitants du restaurant panoramique Le Phare, à Palavas-les-Flots, l’affirme. Samedi, il a déployé une banderole dans le hall du Palais des congrès, qui donne accès au restaurant : « La mairie augmente le prix d’accès au Phare de 50%. Le restaurant dénonce publiquement ce racket auprès de ses clients ».
"Symbolique", selon le maire
Après une décision du conseil municipal, le 28 mars, le tarif de l’ascenseur pour accéder à son établissement est passé de 2 à 3 euros par personne. Une mesure symbolique, selon le maire (LR) de la ville, Christian Jeanjean joint par téléphone : « ce n’est pas très important, on n’a pas changé le prix depuis 2000 et entre-temps le coût des repas a augmenté ».
Mais pour Laurent Lechuga, il y a une véritable volonté de « nuire », « au restaurant et à moi », derrière cette décision. D’une part, la somme lui semble très importante « si vous êtes 4, vous payez 12€ à la mairie pour venir manger », a-t-il déclaré auprès de France 3 Languedoc-Roussillon. Mais d’autre part, il accuse directement une élue du conseil municipal, adjointe au commerce d’être responsable de la décision.
Une enquête en cours
Sur Facebook, Laurent Lechuga a décidé de diffuser une vidéo qui semble montrer cette élue et son mari venus au restaurant le 6 mars, à une heure où les clients étaient absents. Le son est coupé mais le commentaire mis en ligne par les gérants résume « menaces de mort et extorsion de fonds ». 30 000€ auraient été demandés ce jour-là aux gérants, affirme Laurent Lechuga. D’après lui, c’est son refus de payer qui aurait poussé la mairie à augmenter le tarif d’accès à son établissement. Il a décidé de porter l’affaire devant la police judiciaire, une enquête est actuellement en cours et la PJ a dors et déjà perquisitionné les locaux de la mairie jeudi 12 avril.

The sound is cut but the comment put online by the managers summarizes "death threats and extortion". 30 000 € would have been asked that day to the managers, says Laurent Lechuga.
