[DE] "Die große Granitschale vor dem Museum sollte einst in der Rotunde aufgestellt werden, doch ging Steinschleifer G.C. Cantian bis an die Grenzen des technisch Möglichen und erweiterte ihren Durchmesser auf sieben Meter, so dass sie für die Rotunde zu groß wurde. Der Stein stammt aus einem Findling bei Fürstenwalde, wurde vor Ort von 100 Mann gewendet und anschließend durch den Wald und per Kahn über die Spree nach Berlin transportiert. Beim Festfrühstück zur Einweihung dieses "Weltwunders" 1834 saßen 42 Personen auf dem Schalenrand. 1935 wurde die Schale an eine Stelle nördlich des Doms versetzt, beim Rücktransport 1981 brach sie auseinander. Sie wurde zwar wieder zusammengefügt, aber der Riss ist deutlich sichtbar."
