The Meacham Building was constructed by Guy Meacham in 1916. He operated his furniture store on the ground level, with a hotel on the second floor and doctor and attorney offices on the third. This building was constructed shortly after the town was platted and served a booming oilfield population when the town sprang up after oil was discovered nearby. It survived a devastating fire in 1916 which caused great damage to the downtown area. In the 1930's and 1940's, the furniture store continued, with the hotel above, and doctor, attorney and dental offices on the upper floor. In 1951, the building was sold and Economy Wholesale Supply has operated here to the present.
This 3-story red brick building is currently occupied on the first and second levels. The third floor windows, originally set in doubles, have been covered over with green metal siding. The second floor windows, originally set in triples, have been partially covered with metal siding, leaving two single unit in each bay. The building has three bays. The outer bays have display windows on the ground level, and dentil work near the roof line. The center bay has a single glass entry door flanked by sidelights. The entire storefront is covered with a metal awning. A large neon sign is mounted on the third floor wall and advertises Economy Supply.
This building was placed on the National Register in 1982.
