The Boston Symphony Orchestra celebrated the 75th anniversary of its summer home in the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts with an installation of 50 fiberglass sculptures shaped like musical instruments in 2012.
The sculptures, shaped like clarinets, violins, trumpets, French horns, and g-clefs, were created by Chicago Fiberglass Works and were painted and decorated by Massachusetts-based artists, many of whom are high school and college students from Boston and western Massachusetts. The schools participating in this project include Miss Hall's School, Westfield State University, Berkshire Community College, BART, Monument Mountain Regional High School, Lenox Memorial High School, Pittsfield High School, Berkshire School, Mount Greylock Regional High School, Lasell College, Taconic High School, and Drury High School.
