The white marble obelisk only reaches just over 2 metres in height, and has several inscriptions on the base for various Pywell family members. On one side (possibly the southern) is the following lead-filled inscription, for Bessie:

The memorial is surrounded by rounded terracotta edging, with low, rusty hooped iron fence on the outside, with white stones scattered over the surface. It looks like the floreat spikes of the fence may have been painted silver at some stage, but they are rusty now.
