"The Douglas Trail - a heritage and nature walk...
Welcome to the Douglas Trail, a route which will take you through both built and natural environments. You can easily split the trail up into shorter sections or start at any point en-route. Along the way your will see a number of interpretation boards such as this one and way mark signs displaying a number. Each number relates to a specific point of interest about which you can reas in the pamphalet that accompanies the trail. This is available from the Tourist Information Centre at the Sea Terminal or the Henry Bloom Library on Victoria Street. You can also enjoy an audio tour of the route by downloading an mp3 podcast form www.ddp.org.im and www.manxradio.com In this case the waymark numbers alos relate to the tracks of the mp3 file.

The Douglas trail was inspired by the Douglas entry inthe Britain in Bloom competition in 2006, the theme for which was biodiversity. It has developed beyond this initial concept into a trail which celebrates the variety in the town's landscapes, architecture, history and culture. We hope you enjoy waling the trail and would welcome your comments about any ways it could be improved for the future. Similarly if you encounter any problems en-route, particularly with following the trail it would be helpful if you would let us know.
