The
U.S. Immigration Station was one of three centers on Oahu where Japanese-American citizens were interned during World War II. The other two were the Sand Island Detention Camp, of which there are no remains left and
Honouliuli Internment Camp. Honouliuli was the only one specifically built for prolonged detention, and it held more than 300 internees and 4,000 prisoners of war.
In all of Hawaii, then a U.S. territory, more than 1,000 people were interrogated and ultimately imprisoned under martial law that was declared after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. For more information on Internment Camps in Hawaii,

Currently this building is operated by the Department of Homeland Security and is heavily marked as no trespassing. Coordinates are on the sidewalk as near as I dared approach.
