Built in 1951 by Phillip & Son of Dartmouth, Lightvessel 16 was stationed at many locations around the British Isles to warn shipping of dangers to navigation.

She was berthed at The Hythe as the headquarters of Colchester Sea Cadets.

This is one of her twin 2 tonne close-haul anchors, presented in 1996 to the Seatrade Organisation by Colchester Sea Cadets.
