Mrs. McClellan is buried next to her father in historic Salt Lake City Cemetery. Her headstone is of red granite, with a simple inscription:

Almeda Day McClellan

Nov. 28, 1831
June 22, 1933

Note the "Faith in Every Footstep 1847-1997" marker affixed to the headstone. These were placed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1997 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of their arrival here in the Salt Lake Valley, and there are many of them to be found throughout the cemetery.

Significant events that occurred during her lifetime include:

1841 - John Neely Bryan establishes the settlement of Dallas, TX.
1851 - Herman Melville's "Moby Dick" is published.
1861 - Victor Emmanuel II becomes the first King of Italy. V-E-R-D-I
1871 - Kaiser Wilhelm I and Otto von Bismarck establish the Second German Empire.
1881 - The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral takes place in Tombstone, AZ.
1891 - Jim Hogg becomes the first native Texan to become governor of Texas. He'll have a famous daughter named Ima.
1901 - The Victorian Era ends with the death of Queen Victoria at age 81.
1911 - The Mona Lisa is stolen from the Louvre.
1921 - The first radio broadcast of a baseball game takes place, from Forbes Field, Pirates-Phillies.
1931 - The Star-Spangled Banner is adopted as the United States's national anthem.
1933 - The real estate trading board game Monopoly is invented as the Great Depression rages on.
