"DOUBLE SPRINGS - The second annual Double Springs City Fest was held Saturday, Sept. 8 and was bigger than last year according to event sponsor Crystal Till.

'“It’s going really well,” Till said during the festival. “We have as many or more vendors this year than we had last year.”

"The event was more spread out this year, due to the Traders and Farmers Bank construction happening in downtown.

'“I tell you, it’s been great,” Till continued. “This year, we’ve added a kid zone. We owe Double Springs First Baptist Church so much. They really knocked it out of the park with the kid zone this year.”

'“The Double Springs Fire Department has the water slide this year, and it has been a huge hit as well. I think our vendors and merchants have had a lot of success as far as I can tell.”

"Two Alabama Bicentennial events were recognized at City Fest: the set up for Dr. Blake at the Winston County Archives and biographies and photos set up in “The Little Old Rock Building,” which celebrated 100 years, sponsored by the Double Springs Study Club.

"Organizers wish to thank all the vendors, sponsors and all those who came out to make the second annual event a success." ~ North West Alabamian, Sept. 26, 2018
