Memorial Park is a small park, anchored by the newly-restored Strawn Depot and the Strawn Historical Museum, housed in a hut once used by the Boy Scouts. There are a few amusements for the kids, with mostly open play space, and it's an easy walk to reach the center of town. Beware of the passing trains, as they're loud!
Type of Memorial: Non-Specific Memorial

In Honor Of: Those Strawn Men and Women Who Served in War

Marker Text:
Memorial Park

Dedicated with grateful respect
to those Strawn men and
women who served in war

1946

Date of dedication: 1946

Who Put it Here?: City of Strawn

Description of Memorial:
The memorial is a slab of gray, granite, with a bit of Art Deco to it -- the strips on each side -- and ivy detail. There are a couple of chips on each side as well, prompting one to wonder if the memorial was damaged out on the park grounds, and relocated here to a safer spot.

Wars mentioned (Multi-war only): Not listed
