Its origin a gift of Dr. Edward H. Williams in honor of his parents, Norman and Mary Williams, the Norman Williams Public Library was built in 1883-1884 from pink sandstone on the Green of Woodstock, Vermont.

The Norman Williams Public Library has served the people of Woodstock, Vermont for over a century. Additions and renovations, the most recent in 1999-2000, expanded the building from 5,000 to 15,000 square feet of usable space. The library offers over 60,000 items to loan, promotes lifelong learning and community collaboration, about 400 programs per year, and free wireless internet access.
