CHILDERS, Gene Edward Mr. Gene Edward Childers, age 85, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on January 31, 2017. He was born March 29, 1931 in Atlanta, GA to the late James Levy and Clara Luke Holland Childers. Mr. Childers served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. During his time in the armed forces, he served as a Combat Air Crewman. He then began a career as an Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) Federal Agent. In 1978, after retiring from the government, he opened National Vehicle Recovery of Georgia, Inc. He graduated from the Atlanta Law School with a Law Degree.
