A bowling club in the Scottish town of Kinross was established on March 22nd 1893 as the Kinross-shire Bowling Club, with the green being opened the following month. The clubhouse on the north side of the green was built in 1898 at a cost of £165. It has since been extended over the years.
The green has remained on the same site since opening, on the east side of the High Street next to the entrance to the town's golf courses.
