St. Paul's Church was built at the request of the Bishop of St.Andrews, The Rt. Rev Charles Wordsworth, on ground in Kinross donated by 4th Baronet, Graham Graham-Montgomery. Designed by John Lessels of Edinburgh, it opened for services on October 4th 1874. The cost of £1295 was higher than the original estimate and the debt was eventually cleared seven years to the day of the opening in 1881, the same day as the consecration by the bishop.
Also in 1881, a bell tower was added on the north-west corner. Russell of Wamock donated the bell. In 1892 the organ was added. This was replaced by a new organ in 2006.
The church is situated north of the town centre on the eastern side of Muirs, the main route through the town. The principal feature is the west side which faces the road, with the west gable and its three pointed-arch windows, and the stepped, octagonal tower to the left.
