Ortona South Campground Gazebo - Ortona, Florida, USA - Gazebos on Waymarking.com

Located along the Okeechobee Waterway/Caloosahatchee Canal is the Ortona Lock and Dam. On the south side of the lock and dam is the Ortona South Campground. Located in the center of the campground is a gazebo.

This covered area is primarily designed for picnics and group gatherings. It has picnic tables and a large grill for cooking. It is situated between the two campground loops for easy access. There is visitor parking nearby.

The gazebo is approximately 30 feet in diameter and has 5 picnic tables. Along with the oversized charcoal grill there is also a fire ring. Restrooms are a short walk from the gazebo and are handicap accessible.

The surrounding area has access to three fishing piers, one of which is wheelchair accessable, and a paved walking path. Visitors can cross the dam to gain access to the locks where there is a seating area for observing watercraft going through the locks. (The dam and lock are not wheelchair accessible)
