Copan Ruinas is better known for its Mayan ruins, but there are more attractions in this quiet small town. By the entrance of the town there is a butterfly house attached to a hotel, although the butterfly house is by far more famous in town than the hotel.
There are about 30 different species there, and the visitor will be able to observe all the stages of a butterfly life.
It's a quiet and pleasant place although when I visited there were just a few butterflies. I was told this was because of a disease but that things would go back to normality very soon.
