Located 15.5 miles west of Moore Haven, Florida on the north side of the Okeechobee Waterway/Caloosahatchee Canal at the Ortona Locks and Dam is a public boat ramp. This boat ramp is maintained by the US Army Corp of Engineers. It has one paved lane for launching boats and 7 parking spots for vehicles with trailers. There is no handicap trailer or individual vehicle parking available. There is a restroom area with mens and women's facilities.
Boats may be launched during daylight hours with a $3.00 fee. This ramp provides access to the Caloosahatchee Canal between the Ortona Lock and the Franklin Lock , 28 miles to the west.
