FR Le château de Cabriès est situé sur le territoire de la commune française de Cabriès dans le département des Bouches-du-Rhône, et la région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.

En 1200, l'existence d'un château de pierre (castrum de Cabriera) est répertoriée dans la liste Pergam. Le plus ancien titre connu de l'histoire seigneuriale de Cabriès est un acte de vente daté de 1237 par lequel Anselme Férus vend le fief et le château de Cabriès à Raymond Bérenger V, Comte de Provence. Ancienne place forte habitée par les comtes de Provence, le château devient au xviiie siècle une résidence d'agrément et ses façades s'ornent de fenêtres à la française. En 1934, le peintre Edgar Mélik achète l'aile nord du château, il peint sur la plupart des murs (dont la chapelle du xviie siècle) et construit son atelier qui offre une vue imprenable sur le massif de Sainte-Victoire.

Le château abrite le musée Edgar Mélik qui abrite la collection du peintre, décédé en 1976 dont l'œuvre murale est un élément unique dans la région. Des expositions temporaires y sont proposées ainsi que du mobilier d'archéologie locale.
EN The Château de Cabriès is located in the territory of the French commune of Cabriès in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.

In 1200, the existence of a stone castle (castrum de Cabriera) is listed in the Pergam list. The oldest known title in the seigneurial history of Cabriès is a deed of sale dated 1237 by which Anselme Férus sold the fiefdom and castle of Cabriès to Raymond Bérenger V, Count of Provence. A former stronghold inhabited by the Counts of Provence, the castle became a pleasure residence in the 18th century and its façades were decorated with French windows. In 1934, the painter Edgar Mélik bought the north wing of the castle, painted on most of the walls (including the 17th century chapel) and built his studio, which offered a breathtaking view of the Sainte-Victoire massif.

The castle houses the Edgar Mélik Museum, which houses the painter's collection, which died in 1976 and whose mural work is a unique element in the region. Temporary exhibitions are on offer as well as local archaeological furniture.
