FR Pittoresque village perché sur son piton rocheux, dominé par la masse de son vieux château caractérisé par son clocher original, prolongement de la tour de défense de la porte d'accès vers le Haut-Cabriès, aux rues étroites et coupées à angle droit, si propices aux combats défensifs. Le château-fort ou place forte bâtie en pierres, paraît dater, quant à ses bases du moins, du IIXème siècle. Il a la forme d'un quadrilatère avec cour d'honneur centrale et portail d'accès ouvert dans un mur de défense, bâti sur son côté ouest. La partie la plus ancienne du château est certainement ce mur de défense et ce portail ouest. Le village primitif était bâti au pied du château sur le côté ouest. Il était entouré de murailles et devait compter une ou deux portes dont l'une seulement est toujours debout celle sur laquelle fut élevé bien plus tard le clocher actuel. Le village ne comprenait alors que les maisons situées entre le château et cette porte, l'église et la tour que l'on voit toujours, à l'ouest au bout de la rue de l'église et qui devait être une tour d'angle de rempart, faisant partie de son système de défense.

L'horloge
L'horloge, ronde, blanche, sans cadre, est sous les cloches de la tour du château de Cabries. Des aiguilles noires indiquent l'heures sur des chiffres romains.
EN Picturesque village perched on its rocky peak, dominated by the mass of its old castle characterized by its original bell tower, extension of the defensive tower of the access gate to the Haut-Cabriès, with narrow streets and cut at right angles, so conducive to defensive fighting. The fortified castle or fortified town, built of stone, seems to date, as for its bases at least, from the 19th century. It has the shape of a quadrilateral with a central main courtyard and an open access gate in a defensive wall, built on its west side. The oldest part of the castle is certainly this defensive wall and the western gate. The primitive village was built at the foot of the castle on the west side. It was surrounded by walls and had to have one or two doors, only one of which is still standing, the one on which the current bell tower was built much later. The village then only included the houses between the castle and this gate, the church and the tower that can still be seen to the west at the end of the street of the church and which was to be a corner tower rampart, part of its defense system.

The clock
The clock, round, white, frameless, is under the bells of the tower of Cabries Castle. Black hands indicate the hours on Roman numerals.
