FR La Poste a depuis longtemps annoncé son intention de fermer le bureau de Cabriès. En préfiguration de cette fermeture, les horaires ont été considérablement réduits et l'ouverture effective est devenue de plus en plus erratique (fermetures inopinées, changements d'horaire, absences...).

Pour maintenir le service public de La Poste au Piton de Cabriès et éviter une fermeture définitive, La Poste et la commune ont décidé d'ouvrir un point poste à l'accueil de la mairie centrale de façon à offrir une amplitude d'ouverture plus importante qu'auparavant. Par convention la commune de Cabriès met à disposition un agent municipal pour assurer l'accueil de l'agence postale communale pendant les heures effectuées pour le compte de La Poste ainsi que l'emplacement pour l'exercice des activités de l'agence postale communale et prend en charge l'entretien et la propreté de celui-ci.

La Poste, quant à elle, prend en charge la formation des agents municipaux mis à sa disposition. Elle fournit et entretient les équipements techniques, et verse une indemnité mensuelle à la commune, destinée à compenser les charges supportées par celle-ci. Il était primordial, non seulement pour le lien social mais encore pour les conséquences économiques, de maintenir ce service public. Nous savons combien la présence d'une poste au Piton est indispensable pour ses habitants.

EN La Poste has long announced its intention to close the Cabriès office. As a prelude to this closure, schedules have been considerably reduced and the effective opening has become increasingly erratic (unexpected closures, schedule changes, absences, etc.).

To maintain La Poste's public service at the Piton de Cabriès and avoid a permanent closure, La Poste and the municipality have decided to open a post office point at the reception desk of the central town hall in order to offer a greater degree of openness than before. By agreement, the municipality of Cabriès provides a municipal agent to receive the municipal postal agency during the hours worked on behalf of La Poste and to provide the site for the activities of the municipal postal agency and to take charge of its maintenance and cleanliness.

La Poste, for its part, is responsible for training the municipal staff made available to it. It supplies and maintains the technical equipment, and pays a monthly allowance to the municipality to compensate for the costs incurred by it. It was essential, not only for the social link but also for the economic consequences, to maintain this public service. We know how essential the presence of a post office at the Piton is for its inhabitants.
