Elle proviendrait des jardins du château de Sceaux, où elle est signalée en 1800 comme une statue pouvant être placée soit au Musée Central des Arts, soit au Musée des Monuments français, soit dans les maisons nationales.

Un inventaire, relatif aux statues dans le Jardin du Luxembourg, en fait état en 1802 (Gazette des Beaux-Arts, avril 1994).

It comes from the gardens of the castle of Sceaux, where it is reported in 1800 as a statue that can be placed either at the Central Museum of Arts, the Museum of French Monuments, or in national houses.

An inventory, relating to the statues in the Jardin du Luxembourg, shows it in 1802 (Gazette des Beaux-Arts, April 1994).
