The Painted Pony Rodeo is a family-friendly night out that nicely accommodates visitors to the Lake George, New York area. The gates open a couple of hours ahead of the rodeo, giving you plenty of time to grab some supper from the concessions on the concourse directly above and behind the seats. A master of ceremonies leads the commentary throughout the night with his booming, yet friendly voice announcing the proceedings. He keeps the crowd engaged and explains what happens for every event. Each part of the event is well-planned and entertaining -- the real-deal rodeo clowns are definitely brave.

It is an easy, 15-minute drive between the main lodging areas along the southern end of Lake George and the arena property. Parking is right next to the entrance and cost a few dollars.
