The center of the mural is a portrait of Kelton. His hand is resting on a stack of books with titles that he wrote. Below the portrait is an old typewriter.

In the bottom left corner is a man herding cattle, with some horse soldiers, then a man on a bucking bronc.

A windmill is above the portrait in the center of the mural.

In the bottom right corner is another cattle herding scene, with a gold outline of Texas above. An Indian hunting buffalo is in the upper right corner.
