Way Park was constructed by the WPA in 1935. At the south edge of the park, facing Broadway, a stone arch stands, which was a former entrance to the park.
Under this arch is an aluminum plaque on a stand dedicated to Bill Scribner (William Elmer Scribner / 12/23/1923 - 12/20/1993. Bill Scribner was a World War II naval veteran.
