The students of Montgomery County Community College were asked to submit ideas for a Bear Fever bear to represent their school. The artist who ended up designing this bear was student Chris D'Antonio. Chris' dream was to attend the Tyler School of Art but his acceptance was delayed a year so he attended Montco for two semesters. While there he took several art courses which helped him to create a better portfolio for his future education at Tyler and at the end of the year, he took part in the Bear Fever contest. "I ended the year with designing and painting the Boyertown Bear Fever bear representing MontCo. My concept for this community art project was to include a nature scene around the bear symbolizing the black bear’s natural habitat which once existed throughout Boyertown."
